Playing Hide n' Go Seek with Your Soul
"All those qualities, capacities and tendencies which do not harmonize with the collective values... come together to form the shadow, that dark region of the personality which is unknown and unrecognized by the ego." - Carl Jung
The "shadow" of shadow work is not a term I use very often.
It was originally coined by Carl Jung to refer to those suppressed energies of the psyche that lie under the surface and often pop up at the most inopportune times and in a way that is usefully harmful or inappropriate.
Kind of like that friend who drinks too much at the party or that uncle who comes to the family gathering and absolutely must confront everyone with his extreme political views.
Except this uncle lives inside of you.
I wanted to take it a bit further and consider the shadow, not as merely the repressed parts of ourselves.
Instead I want to look at the parts that we are actively identified with, walking around as and don't realize isn't who we are at all.
Strange to consider, but what if the shadow was hiding in plain site? What is the shadow doesn't know it's a shadow?
That is what we will be considering on this week's show. So join us live or on the replay.
